Torn between the metal or the polymer 400e, other than saving a couple of bucks what's the advantage of the polymer over metal, in your opinion?
Me personally, I think the polymer is clearly the better overall "value". With the polymer, you get all the same great features that the metal 400e has. The internal mechanisms are the same. The only real difference is not having the metal receiver and handguard. The polymer is noticeably lighter in hand but still looks great visually. The metal 400e is $140 to $150 more expensive (depending on whether you get the black or tan finish) than the polymer 400e (only available in black).
There are many people that go for the metal 400e because they want the most realistic look and feel available. Makes total sense. Website sales are split fairly evenly right now - as far as sales being pretty similar between the 400e metal in tan, 400e metal in black, and 400e polymer in black.
